Finally, Audi has released the Q3, providing car shoppers with a crossover that easily fits in crowded urban areas, and still packs the kind of quality consumers have come to expect from the German automaker. The new model has a similar appearance to the Q5, meaning it is plenty attractive from any distance.

When compared to the Q5, the Q3 actually measures three inches shorter when it comes to height, and ten inches shorter when it comes to overall length. That fact alone makes it a better fit for anyone who regularly visits cramped parking areas, like those that are commonly found in urban centers. Front-wheel drive is standard, but the optional quattro all-wheel drive makes the Q3 even easier to maneuver in any situation.

Audi offers the 2015 Q3 in two trims called Premium Plus and Prestige. It includes a healthy variety of standard features on the Premium Plus, including xenon headlights, a panoramic sunroof, automatic wipers, 18-inch wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable front seats and a sound system with ten speakers.

The Premium Plus can be had with the optional Audi Multi Media Interface controller lets drivers navigate through the infotainment system with ease. A navigation system with voice controls is also available. Buyers have the option of including a nice Driver Assistance package that makes operating the vehicle easier and includes a rearview camera, rear parking sensors and a blind spot monitoring system.

Stepping up to the Prestige trim means buyers get all of the standard and optional equipment from the Premium Plus. Additional features are also included, like power-folding mirrors, a power liftgate and a Bose sound system with 14 speakers. The Audi Connect system is also standard, which provides Internet-based navigation for more up-to-date information, plus a mobile WiFi hotspot occupants can connect to with several mobile devices at the same time.

Plenty of power is on tap with the Audi Q3, thanks to the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that uses turbocharging to squeeze out 200 horsepower and 207 lb.-ft. of torque. The design also includes direct injection, boosting fuel economy and engine response at the same time. As a result, drivers can carve through city streets with glee and even easily pass other vehicles at freeway speeds.

Anyone who knows Audi is aware that the company takes safety seriously, which is why its various models routinely rank well in different safety tests. The Q3 is certainly no exception. One of the best ways to protect drivers and passengers is to use technologies that prevent accidents before they can happen. In that spirit, the Q3 comes with an available side assist system that monitors for other cars hiding in the blind spots, warning the driver about the situation. The parking system detects when the crossover is close to any other objects, and the rearview camera provides a clear view when backing out of driveways or parking spots.

Even though the Audi Q3 is quite affordable, it comes with a luxurious interior. High-quality materials and an attractive design pamper anyone smart enough to purchase the crossover, making it a smart option.
