Audi was founded by August Horch in Chemnitz, Germany over 83 years ago and through the ups and downs that that time has brought the world, including a little spat in the 1940's, the automaker remains one of the foremost builders of luxury vehicles.  In recent years, Audi has been using the slogan, Truth in Engineering.  However, with all of the advances and additions in technology for 2016, it wouldn't be surprising to see more of their original slogan, Advancement through Technology."  Audi has always been an innovator, and in 2016 it seems like the goal is to put more technology into more of their line than ever before.

The Audi virtual cockpit, originally available only in the TT last year, is now being introduced into the A4.  The virtual cockpit combines the functionality of traditional dashboard components like the fuel gauge, speedometer, revolutions meter, temperature gauge and warning lights with a navigation/infotainment system all right in front of the driver.  The 12.3 inch screen is where the old dashboard used to be and allows the driver to customize the look and feel of what he or she is seeing.  Choose between two distinct modes and use command features on the steering wheel, console or by voice.  The Audi virtual cockpit takes the convenience of staying connected to the world to whole new safer and more fun level.

When it comes to engine technology, the Audi A4 alone will have seven different options in total for 2016.  These engines will all immediately become more fuel efficient as they will have to carry up to 264 pounds less as the A4 has gone on a successful diet via the design table this year.  The drag has been reduced as well as the weight, providing another addition by subtraction point for 2016.  At the top of the turbo-diesels, you'll be able to outfit your luxury sports sedan with 272 horsepower, plenty of power to let the rest of the world know you have arrived.

The Q7 wasn't going to let the A4 get all the praise for being lighter, more agile and more fuel efficient as a result of a little weight loss.  Well, in the case of the Q7, made little isn't the right word.  The designers trimmed 717 pounds from the SUV's curb weight, or basically the equivalent of three baby elephants.  The designers attacked every corner of the Q7, from the body to the suspension to the transmission in order to find pounds it could lose.  In many sections, the use of lighter weight yet just as strong or flexible materials were used.  In others, it was a matter of implementing more appropriate components for the common driving style of most Q7 owners.  Last but not least, Audi repositioned the Q7's engine, lowering the vehicle's center of gravity and adding to overall stability while maintaining the current height.

The A4 and the Q7 aren't the only Audi models with redesigned components or added technology so pick up the phone and schedule you test drive, or test drives, today.
